Mattayus has a new song up! (PodXT, 7620, Logic, Your mum in a box, etc...)

Well, i think this proves that you don't need the metal pack to get an ok-ish tone It's still not where i'd like it to be, but it's a damn site better than my old tone!

I'm quite happy with the mix, but the only thing i'm concerned about, as always, is bass levels. Is it ok? Too bassy? Not bassy enough? I can't quite tell, i have ear fatigue!! Anyway, on with the song:

It's from an old riff i had lying around (called Hoogaflivle on my soundclick). It's written with vocals in mind so in places where it's quite simple and boring, just picture vocals

wow im surprised at how great that tone is without you having the metal pack, shows that if you can accomplish a great tone if you just put your mind to it! , nice riffs to bro!

Thanks man! Yeah, basically, i'm flat broke, so for the past few weeks i've just been moulding a new tone. It's actually surprisingly easy. The secret is in the cab really, and the EQ of course.

Am I actually going to say that the rythm crunch guitar need to go a bit (I mean a bit, not much) down? I suppose I am :P

I don't think it would ruin it with more bass a bit more punch then I think

Sounds good. The intro reminds me of Team Sleep. I think your rhythm tone would benefit from some more bass. It seems very middy. Also, I thought the lead guitar bit towards the end of the song was a bit too low in the mix. It might sound too harsh, though, if you turn it up louder, but maybe adding some reverb would remedy that?

Don't tell me what I can't do.

Ok, clear your browser cache, and listen again. Took the edge off the mids and added a bit around 250hz to teh guitars for a touch more punch, should be a bit less sharp now, fits in with the bass better. Thanks guys!
