Recommend me a DAW, I'm sick of Logic!
Well, its all in the title really, Logic's not doing it for me anymore.
It's easy enough to use, it just feels like it's lacking something. I want something that's easy to use, noob friendly, and not massively over-priced |

On the Mac, I think you are looking at Digital Performer and ProTools. I think both are great, I use Protools permanently, but Digital Performer aint no slouch, and it has no hardware dependencies either. Unless of course you aint using a Mac (what version of Logic are we talking?)
If its for PC, the only one I'd personally consider is Sonar, I hate Cubase and its variants with a passion, about as logical when you've used other DAWs as a car with the steering wheel in the boot. |

I'll recommend the same one I always do: Reaper. I tried Cubase, Sonar, and ProTools LE before it, and I'd never use any of them again.

Reaper. Its pretty new but has a growing following. Also it has an uncrippled free trial.

For a Mac Logic, Protools and Digital Performer are hard t beat...I don't know what version you get on Windows, but the latest version of Logic (Studio 8) may look user-friendly with it's pretty GUI but it is a massively powerful and very deep DAW.
On Windows it's still gotta be Cubase from me, hard to beat, but only because the versions of Pro Tools and Logic on windows are often inferior to the Mac counterparts.

Cubase SX3 for quite some time now, and didn't think anything would sway me, but this got me thinking! The routing options can proove to be particularly useful... and the installer being 3mb? Holy crap! ![]() Is it possible in any way to import projects from Cubase? I have all my favourite mix setups etc. there, and I don't want to redo everything from scratch... |
