Bulb - New snippet of a song! (podx3, dfhs)
Hey guys, got a new short work in progress clip uploaded to myspace and soundclick.
I have a few projects im working on other than the Periphery album at the moment, and one of those is to write for my solo album, so this will most likely end up a Bulb track. Its called "Buttersnips" and you can hear it here: MySpace.com - Bulb (skip song 2) - BETHESDA, US - Metal / Experimental / Rock - www.myspace.com/iambulb (2nd song on the list) or SoundClick artist: Bulb - Metal, or what i call metal rather. I write music so i can listen to it. There are not many bands Enjoy! |

Amazing as always!
I especially love those licks at ~0:53!Out of curiosity, how many guitar tracks are layered there, and how many different guitar parts?

this is a whole new chapter in the bulb world! totally different from the usual stuff, man! i love it to death!
it´s just... a totally different style/genre, and sounds like it would make an incredible solo album! i wanna hear this finished, with a perfected mix... and you gotta record more 8 string stuff, especially in this vein of music... i think 8 string stuff in this style would own ass! listening to this stuff with monitors, it sounds awesome! are you mixing with studio monitors now, or still using the headphones? i´m a whiney bitch, so i hear things that could be tweaked and fixed, but still :P btw, have you found any cool ways to use the pod X3 yet? i like using one amp model for the high end, and one for the low end, using the EQ to high pass/low pass. also, using different cabs on two identical patches, and then low/high pass the two... i made a patch where i used the big bottom model, and used one for the high end stuff (V30 cab, sm57 mic) and one for the low end stuff (that 15" cab that is at the end of the list, dunno what mic) then i just used the parametric EQ to separate them: on the high end one, dime the low-end frequency as high as it goes, and pull the level on that as far as it goes, then on the low end one, do the opposite, and dime the high frequency as low as it goes, and pull the level on that all the way down. this way you can get the bottom end and the high and at the same time... although with the big bottom amp model, you don´t really need that :P have you ever tried using other amp models for rhythm stuff, just to see what you could come up with? :P

I TURNED OFF PARAMORE FOR THIS?!?!?!?!
kidding bulber - even though I may have in fact been listening to Paramore...I love this one, it is a new direction that I definitely fucking love. Edit: I've listened to it probably approaching 10 times now, and it is almost involuntary that I start bobbing my head during the opening riff. It is fucking badass.
