Smile New tune, work in progress

Hey everyone! I'm quite new here, as you can see, but so far I'm enjoying my stay

SUPER MEGA UPDATE!

Well, not so much... Basically, I RE-recorded everything, and this time,
I used cab impulses on the pre-amp output of my F50. I'm very pleased with the results,
since I can get an excellent tone, without blowing up the building with my volume levels

I've recorded the whole solo this time, and it resolves into a clean section...
I'm not entirely sure of the drum/rhythm-guitar/solo arrangement just before the transition,
please give feedback, if it's too wacky/doesn't fit/crap

Anyway, enough of my ramblings, have a listen:

Thanks so much for listening!

P.S. If you want to compare, the old mix is still there, at SoundClick artist: Tabula Rasa (CY) - Instrumental Progressive Melodic Metal

I think the drums need to come a bit more, they're lacking punch. As is the rhythm guitar parts, more bass thud is needed there i think dude. That's for the production side of things anyway, as for the song, really loved it mate, nice stuff

Hey, thanks so much for the comments! Gives me motivation to mess around with
the mix more I'll try and fix the things you mentioned

UPDATE: Played about with the mix, and a new version is up now! This one is more punchy IMO, but might be a bit bass heavy... hmmm.
If you have anything to share (for example: "it sucks"), please do

Ruins is just really niceRuins is just really nice
in terms of production i can not say yet what is wrong with it but i think Matt is right.
nice melody and solo you need to continue it. it sounded like you just cut out few bars out of some long and cool song to post.
as bassist, what was that horrible empty bass? fender? (i dislike fender sound)

Yeah the song is "work in progress", so I cut it where I stopped recording
It will be a lot longer, I assure you

Haha, about the bass... I agree it sounds like crap, because it's just my guitar
pitch shifted an octave down Wish I had a real bass...

I'll keep experimenting with the mix as I record more, so hopefully it will get better
