New POD XT live, need help

Alright so I just purchased a POD last week off ebay and so far I love it. I just downloaded some patches off this site and purchased the Metal shop pack as well. Now before this I was playing on a 30 watt Kustom amp with a blown speaker and a death metal pedal, so pretty much everything from the POD sounds 5 times better. Now I have Sonar and have been trying to get direct recordings through the USB, but they always end up with a very bad hiss or it seems like its 2 times faster than originally played. Any suggestions? I tweaked my patches with some headphones, and I understand that recording it is going to sound different, but what do I do about the horrible fuzz that comes up?

Sounds like you don't have the sample rate in sonar and the pod matched...?

Well In SONAR I got to Audio and change the sample rate to 44100 and the audio driver bit depth to 16. The POD is the default sound card in windows, and it still comes up horrible. Ive tried it in Stereo, POD Left, and POD Right and they all come up the same.
