An MP3 offering - "Slapped"

OK, I've been slaving at a tune for a little bit, really it started out as a kind of jam tune that I kind of played until I got something I liked. Originally, it was recorded in Logic with a YJM Signature Series Strat Direct in with a Boss GT-8. It sounded OK, but I'm never happy with the guitar tone of either the GT8 or my Pod 2.0, or my Podxt (And I have every amp pack there is for the damn thing...) Heck I even posted a vid of me jamming out on youtube:

Kinda directionless, and a really rough sketch. The drums are from the apple loops package that comes with Logic and GB. Yuck! Bass was played by me, still have to redo it, as it needs to be revisited with the new drums I put in...

So I got busy tonight, pulled out the Universe, and plugged into my Marshall JVM 410H. Miced 'er with a '57, layered the shit out of it, planned my leads out and cut out the improv wankery. Drums were replaced, I used Betamonkey DB1 Drumloops. They sound cool... It's got a ways to go mix-wise but I'm happy with it as a "polished sketch". Hope ya enjoy, lemme know what you think, eh? Here's the tune all nice and revised...

Dude i really like that, it's really dreamy, and i think your tone is great for that sorta stuff. Fuckin awesome man

I think the drums need to come way up, and so does the lead, either that or drop the rhythm back, it's too big i think.

Thanks for the listen, man!

OK, Drums and leads up, I think there's a few parts that need redoing, I'll post a new clip later tonight!

OK, got the levels up a bit more, still have to re-do the bass and the leads.
What a bummer, I just realized tonight that my links to my mp3's weren't working on my website. Aggg been like that for months I bet... oh well, they're fixed now...
