Needz helpz with logic and Pod Xt

Hey!

I was at my friends house who just bought this logic thingy...
and we tried hard as hell to connect his pod xt to logic.

We got it connected alright, but when we did the sound from logic just went out through the pod and the output lines on the pod.
It all took place on a mac (do one get logic for any other computers than mac, dont answer that :P)

do anyone now what we have doing wrong (or right... ) if you think you know please speak out!

Well, thanks in advance.

As far as I know, that's how it works; your Pod is the soundcard, ergo you need to plug your speakers into the Pod. At least, that's what I did when I used my Pod as the soundcard
If you just want to record your pod, simply use the line-out and don't USB the Pod to the Mac.

But I may be wrong about that?

The best way is to simply record through USB. The Pod will work as as the sound device (make sure you select it inside Logic), and plug your speakers or headphones into the Pod. You will need a driver package for OS X from Line6, but I assume you already have this.

Don't tell me what I can't do.

Ye, he has it..

well but when I plugged the pod xt into my windows computer via usb, used sonar recording prog, it worked just as a port in for the recording. Just the way I wanted it.

As thomas said, we turned on the pod inside logic where the program could find it, then it just acted as we chose the whole fugding mac to use the pod xt as a soundcard...

(edit: If I'm beeing unclear, it's because I'm finding this difficult to explain)

I am not sure what the problem is. Could you elaborate? Do you get sound output from the Pod (not counting guitar, but e.g. the metronome inside Logic)? Does recording work?

yeah.. recording works. every bit of sound from the mac comes out the output of the pod xt.

The problem is that I only want to use the pod for recording, not as a soundcard. Want to use the audio outputs on the mac, see the prob now?

Go into your System Preferences > Sound and try changing the Output setting.

Also there should be a System Preferences > Line 6 panel which you can try different settings on.
