Dylan S is a jewel in the rough
As usual I like it like your other stuff.

At first I thought the tone sounded a bit too grainey when it was just the guitar unaccompanied, but when everything else came in it sounded quite nice. The mix sounds a bit empty though. I'm not really sure how to explain it. How many tracks are you playing?

If it's 1 each side, try having 1 each side fully panned and then another 2, panned 50% left and right. Even try having 2 each side and then another one in the middle with a much more full and bassy sounding tone.

Just things to try to experiment with I guess, as I'm not sure how many tracks there are right now anyway. The drums still sound great and I love where your snare sits in the mix.

sounds pretty good from a mix standpoint...i'd double track those guitars or up their volume some. the drum mix sounds good...the toms could use a bit more bottom end and the kick could be turned up just a bit (.5 dB should do). I really liked your bass tone (it could be louder too...it's EQed almost perfectly) which means you should post a patch for it ...i have a pod x3 as well and if you don't know already, line 6 just released new firmware, drivers, and Gearbox support! so we can all start sharing single and double tones finally...good start to a good song bro!

thanx alot guys!
About the mix sounding abit empty, i totally aggree! This is one issue that im constantly work on , but never gets right! It is so hard to get the guitars to sound real "meaty" but yet verry clear! Its one thing to get a cool djenty tone, but to make it sound clear where ever you play on the fretboard is something else..hehe.
Another thing that maybe could help out the whole mix is doing more with the AMB channel on the drums!
About doubleing the guitartracks...i really want to stick with just 1 on each side panned hard L+R. I dunno why really, but i just feel like that would be the best thing to do if you want a kinda "loose" sounding mix. Hard to explain.

Now, about the bass tone. On this i have used the Bulb bass patch acctually..hehe, but i have done some EQ work with it in Cubase after recording.

One thing that i dont understand how to acchieve is the fast attack on the picking on guitar. To make it sound really fast attacking! Anyone understand what i mean, and maybe how i can get that? Is it all a matter of playing technique, or is it a tweaking issue with either Gate, comp or eq or something?

@ Ishan & Greg: hehe, well...if you mean that i should lay down vocals, dont expect me too...my voice is horrible. haha...BUT on the other hand, if you meant that you could lay down some stuff, feel absolutely free to do so

sounds good....i agree the guitars are a tad low, and the snare is not to my liking but snare-sound is totally an opinion thing. otherwise

I will be interested in how you achieve a big sounding mix with 2 guitar tracks, because maybe then you can tell me and I won't have to try and play 4 tracks of the same thing - especially in really hard songs.
