Some riffs I've had lying around (SC-607b, Agile, Vetta content)

SoundClick artist: The Black Fist - 21st century killbot

I've been sitting on these riffs for a little while and I decided I'd quickly record them all so my buddy and I can hack them apart and try to make a song out of them. The playing is pretty rough at some parts and the tone isn't exactly my dream tone but it's still pretty heavy and is a good indication of the stuff I'm writing lately.

techy details- Left side is my LTD SC-607b, right side is my Agile 727 (same with the clean in the beginning), and the bass is a Traben Chaos in the middle. Everything is through a Line 6 Vetta II head in stereo, with one side Criminal and one side Big Bottom. Recorded through an Mbox 2 into a Macbook using Logic 7.

it's sounds pretty good...the drums and the tone could use some fine tuning, but it actually sounds like a full song man...definitely rerecord it all and mess with that bass tone...it makes sound weird and airy in the center. I could see this song becoming pretty damn good with some work...I like it especially around 4:06...good stuff wait are you the same black fist from sputnik??

That's pretty good, you need to clear up the mix a bit. A slight back off in volume of the bass should do it

the side with the agile sounds WILD! sooo crunchy and fatty!

and are you sure you didn´t do something different for the left side? it sounds kinda weird :P

did you pan one amp to the left, and the other amp to the right? that might explain it... the tones sound vastly different.

I actually spent a few minutes on the Agile's tone, wheras the left side was more of a grab-the-last-patch-I-saved-and-give'r tone. the same amp models were used, but the cab models were different and it all sounds fuzzier due to the EMGs.

I spent a while last night getting a better tone out of my Agile so I'm probably going to rerecord this stuff at some point. At the time I was just in a rush to get everything tracked but now I want to hear these riffs with a legitimate tone

you should spend the same kind of time with the SC607b track too, because that agile sounds amazing!

I like this stuff a lot dayvohd.

I think the original first riffs you showed me fit well with where you put them in this song. I can't wait to hear it all recorded with win tone and production. They're probably my favourite riffs I've ever heard you write.
