New song! OMGZ! POD X3L!?!?

i traded my whammy for a lovely stratocaster copy that a buddy of mine had... it´s got wilkinson tremolo, wilkinson pickups, nice contstruction, Poplar body... the works!

anyways, i was jamming around with the "Citrus 30" amp model, and made a nice 2-tone preset that i jammed around with. i re-discovered an old riff i had buried, and suddenly i found myself reworking it to shreds. i changed the tuning from drop D to drop Db, and it´s called Of(f) Course:

this is a rough take though, because i recorded all the ideas and stuff first, then i made the drums afterwards, and things weren´t tight anymore, so i´ll have to re-record stuff. plus, this recording doesen´t have bass in it yet.

tell me what you think, i need feedback! i can´t notice and discover everything myself, so tell me if the song thus far is ok :P

also, i doscovered an annoyiing error with the POD X3L that wasn´t there till after the update... dammit!

The bass will rise the song a lot

the sound of guitars is so tiny and even with bass it will still be small
i think you need to improve some how the guitars sound to give them more balls some how.
the riffs are cool though!

i will have to re-record the guitars first though, it´s just not tight now that i´ve added drums :P

i´ve drifted off into more progressive song structure, more porcupine tree-ish... so it´s not that predictable and standardized anymore, and i´m glad i didn´t think about the structure of the song while i was making it :P

i´ll bring my bass back home on wednesday, and i´ll re-record and stuff when i get the time. can´t wait!

i might add vocals too, but i´m not too sure... maybe... i dunno :P

yeah, i haven´t actually done any eq-stuff with it yet, it´s all just raw :P

I could never get the Citrus model to sound good.

it´s quite simple: screamer model, with drive set to 50, tone set to 50, gain set to full

treble and presence on about 70, mids on about full, bass around 50

use the V30 cab, with the SM57 off-axis. here´s my dual-tone trick: copy the same patch to tone 2, so it´s all the same, and then change the mic to the condenser thingy

after that, i add some mids with the EQ, and that´s it!

i have to add some balls to it still, but that´s all coming later... i think i´ll try the V75 cab, i like that one...

EDIT: did some more EQ work n´shizzle on the song!

it should be worth noting that i have a minimum of 3 guitars (left-right-centre) at a time, and in the thicker parts, i have 5 guitars (left-right-centre-left 50%-right 50%) to add thickness :P
