New song, what do you think?

Wassup?
So I made this song after many months of doing boring testclips for mixing, shit that sort of thing can make you go crazy

Anyway here´s a clip called "Out Of Time" and contains stuff like pod xt, DFHS, Schecter C-7 Black Jack, Ibanez Ergodyne 5 string, Pro Tools... It´s a little (hopefully) punchy metalcore kinda thing and I hope you guys dig it. No vocals or melodyguitars yet but the songstructure is finished.

You can find it on MySpace.com - Daniel Andersson - Växjö - Rock / Pop / Metal - www.myspace.com/dmandersson
sorry, don´t have soundclick yet

He who seeks, is searching for something... oh jeah, really?

Listening on Sony MDRs.

THE BAD
1. Guitar tone sounds like Bulb. Eh.
2. Snare sounds weird as heck!
3. It has a weird, overall kind of "muffled" (?) quality to it. Subtle, but there.

THE GOOD
1. Nice songwriting. Good structure, good flow.
2. Decent production, overall. In fact, pretty darn good. I've heard better, but I've also heard much worse. I'd put you in top 15% of home-produced stuff.
3. Nice melodies.

THE DOWN-LOW UGLY
Nice job. I'd try to sound less like Bulb, with the whole "djent" thing, maybe work a bit more traditional vibe in your tone. By any means, I wouldn't start over, but maybe go with this direction 70%, but then add some new stuff, kinda your own thing. This made me think 'Bulb Jr.' big time, and he kinda has his own thing, y'know? Still,

I give it a thumbs up.

4 out of 5 Ronnies.

I kinda knew this was comin´.... damn, I HAVE to start over because I really don´t wanna be a clone or what you call it. Thanx for your input, I think I will erase the song if there´s gonna be too many similar answers here just so you guys know. I respect Mr. B for was he does and didn´t think I would get that similarity..

I wouldn't start over at all. It just has a similar vibe as Bulb. But it still sounds like its own thang.

But do like I do. Mix n' match styles/tones/approaches. Throw a breakdown in this song or something, or some blast beats. But overall, it's kick ass work. Bulb doesn't have a monopoly on this kind of approach anyway, and I myself steal it liberally here and there, when I think it fits.

Keep it. It's good. Don't be childish and throw the baby out with the bathwater dude, c'mon. Just take opinions and advice, think about things, apply what you feel works, and build from there. No need to be all drasticdramatic n' shit.

Yep.

And it's good shit, man! Seriously. I would feel proud as fuck if that was my work.

But just mindless praise? Man, to me that's worthless. I'd rather have valuable feedback from conscientious, knowledgeable peers. Like me.

Basically, I guess I'm saying you're probably like 70-80% "there", to really, really kick ass stuff, IMO. You're already far past most musicians, and probably most people even on here. It just needs a bit more thought, a bit more tweaking, a bit more introspection. You could use that kind of "Bulb'-ish place as a springboard, and from there, develop completely new ideas that he'd never think of. Look at Zeppelin. They took that simple, tried and true blues motif, twisted that fucker every which way, and created not only original, interesting, bad ass music, but works of art that have stood the test of time.
