![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | PODxt n00b here - help? I bought a PODxt a couple of weeks ago and so far I've just been pre-amping with it. Now I wanna get doing some recording, but I'm lost with it. What software from line6.com do I need to be able to record and monitor it with my computer speakers? I'm using Audacity for recording and I have it plugged in via USB right now, but nothing comes up when I hit record. Like I said, I'm a n00b with this stuff. Thanks guys. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Connect your pod and start up Line6's Monkey and download any updates it says you need. If you wanna use your XT as the soundcard and do it via USB, you need to set it in the Windows control panel (Start>Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices> Audio Tab) and possibly also in your DAW's control panel. You'll then want to plug your speakers into the XT. As far as I remember, that's all you'll need to do. It is a lot simpler to just use the line out into your soundcard, though. I found the latency was higher than with my soundcard, so I don't use the USB for anything other than Line6's Edit. ![]() ![]() ![]() | i don't know if this helps but i have my pod going into my amp via the output and plugged in via USB. i hear the sounds in real time through my amp and it records into audacity. i don't have any delay issues cause the sound's coming out of my amp and not my computer speakers. but that's also just me using that method to record ideas. i haven't tried it playing to drum tracks or anything so i don't know if latency is an issue |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I didn't bother with the USB after a while, i couldn't get it to register for shit so i just use good ol' fashioned 1/4" jack into the podxt's left output, the other end with a big-to-small adapter on it, shoved straight into my computer's line-in, into Logic. Fuck technology, it'll only hold you back in the end! (he says, using a Podxt....) |
