Metal Vocalists: Sing over my songs!

Alright guys, here's the deal. One of my old singers came over today and laid out some vocals for my stuff. I like it, but most of the people who have listened say that they hurt more than help. I'd like to hear some more vocal styles over my music, just to see what would work.

I'm looking for everything from powermetal to growls to shreiks, and anywhere inbetween, so even if you don't think it'll work, I want to hear it!

Dude, your music sounds absolutely awesome, but I don't like the vocals at all. The guitars, drums, bass, and such sound great, though. Actually, after listening to all three tracks, the vocalist's voice really started to get on my nerves... Personal taste, but I think your music would be better suited to either a different style of vocals or a different singer...

yeah dude. this music sounds definetly like it could use low growls and high pitched shrieks not black metal forest troll vocals. i really like the music though.

Wow dude, those vocals are terrible. They don't even sound right in the mix. It sounds like when you walk into a room and someone is listening to music and singing with it and it sticks out doesn't even sound like part of the song. It might just be the production though, try to record those vocals a little better.

Music fucking rules though.

Same thing I thought when the vocals first came in. I love the music for "Children of the night" a lot, but the vocals.... nyck had a great comparison with "forest troll", heh heh. I personally think a metalcore-style screaming or even a more subdued singing style would sound good over it.

The music is fuckin' great man, but the vocals seem to spoil it a little, maybe it's just the mix. Metalcore style vocals would suit it much more, like Naren said.

Anyway, you did a great job with the music!

I agree with all the comments... I remixed them a bit. Put some compression on and lowered them in the mix. Let me know if it's any better.

Didn't really notice too much of a difference, actually... My main problem is that I don't like his voice at all...
