Just downloaded the demo version of Fruity Loops...

I'm going to have a proper play with it later this evening. Looks pretty cool so far...

Yeah man i got FL Studio 5, great for creating drum tracks and synth sounds. The drums can sound a bit plastic unless u find really good samples. Hit me up, i got a few nice kicks u can have that sound nice and clicky, proper metal

I have it on my other computer. The only reason I use it is to make demos for the other bandmates to practice with.

7StringofAblicK-This is my footswitch. it changes channels on my amp - just like on a television, but I only have four channels.

I have FL Studio 7..it's pretty neat.

Where does everyone go to get their sounds, because quite frankly most of the onboard stuff is really bad.

It's a great program, and it's surprisingly flexible and powerful. I have Cubase, but I prefer to program drums and VST instruments in FL because I feel the piano roll lets me do more stuff more easily. I really love how the mixer is set up, too. Every track on my Soundclick (linked in my sig) was done entirely with Fruity Loops.

If you're not making electronic music, then yeah, the stuff it comes with won't do much for ya. There are lots of VST type plugins out there for pretty much anything you could want/need. Some good companies include Native Instruments, EastWest, Steinberg, and countless others I can't think of right now.

Let us know what you think of it - the learning curve, ease of use, usefulness as a practice/jamming tool, etc.

I need a program to recommend to my students who use Windows (which I've never had myself) and I'm looking for something as simple to use as GarageBand is on a Mac.
