Advice on mix

Hey guys,

Im mixing my bands demo at the moment, and need a bit of advice on the mix. This is a snippet of a track.

To explain, im trying to go for a sort of semi-processed organic sound, which im finding quite hard.

Any advice or comments would be great.

Cheers!!

Snare could do with a bit of top end maybe, seems like it needs to cut through a bit more. It seems overly bass heavy, maybe take the bass down a touch? I think all the drums could come up a touch as well actually, but maybe not. The guitars seem to muddy up a bit on the palm mutes, and in fast palm muted bits I was struggling to make out individual notes. The normal stuff was fine though and it might not be a mix issue I guess, but I thought I'd mention it.

The vocals are a bit dry for my tastes as well, but they sound good otherwise. It's great stuff anyway mate, sounds real professional already . I don't really know what I'm talking about anyway, so take my comments with a grain of salt

The setup I'm listening to now sucks, but it sounds killer as is. Everything is very clean and professional sounding. You don't see that much for a demo, much less a self-produced one =)
