KRK Monitors

Im going to be buying new monitors very soon.. Nothing very expensive or anything. I'm wondering what the major differences between a 5" driver and a 6" driver are. Im looking at the RP6s and RP5s - Anyone own these? The freq ranges of the two vary just slightly, and i cant believe that they would sound similar with such housing size diferences... help?

A friend of mine recomended Events over the KRKs for my price range:
Buy Event TR6 Tuned Reference 6 Active Monitors online at Musician's Friend

I spent a lot of time testing monitors. The event TR6's are nice, but I liked the rokit series better. If you have the extra $ I would go with the RP8's. I have had them for over 2 years and they sound great, I havent heard the 6's but the RP5's are nice too. I just upgraded to the 8's because I use them to blast drum beats from the computer or my keyboard and jam along with a cranked amp. But both are great and very accurate. Hope that helped.

Judging by the mixes you send me, I'd say avoid these monitors You may be like Nick and be tempted to just load up insane sub bass like a maniac, so much so that it drowns out the rest of the mix!

Just messin' with ya, KRK's are phenomenal monitors.
