How do I get DFH2 in Cubase SX3?

Hey guys,

So I'm in the process of setting up a tiny home studio... So far I'm getting a fully loaded PodXT and I got Cubase SX3 and Drumkit from Hell 2...

Now I don't want to use a keyboard for drum sampling, I'd like to do the good 'ol drum line fills, so how can I use DFH2 in Cubase?

Up the shut fuck, you must.

Yeah... Um no... Doesn't help at all... Sorry...

Do I need anything else than Drumkit From Hell 2 to use it in Cubase?

You may need EZDrummer. I think DFH2 is an expansion pack of EZDrummer, and if that tutorial doesn't help you because you couldn't find it in your VST instruments, then you definitely need EZDrummer. Once you get EZDrummer, you'll need to uninstall DFH2, install EZD, then reinstall DFH2.

I don't think he needs EZD as DFH2 isn't an EZX. It's a standalone program as far as I know. I have EZD with the DFH EZX, I also have DFHS, too. I think DFH2 is an early version of DFHS.

I know sometimes the VST directories can get messed up - mine did, anyhow. So hit F11 to open your VST console, then try to load one, but look in ALL the categories; Synth, Drum and whatever else is there.

There's really no need to roll your eyes at the guy for linking you to the tutorial that's helped a hell of a lot of people here.

I found the VST for DFH2 but I can't get it into Cubase...

What do you mean you can't get it "into" Cubase? Have you started Cubase then opened your VST console and loaded DFH2?
If so, you're almost good to go. You now just need create a midi track and route it out to DFH2.

Start Cubase, start a new project, hit F11 for the VST console, find DFH2 and load it. Then back to the main project window, create a new midi track. You should now see a series of properties for that track on the left, like volume, panning, time stretch, and midi routing options. Where it says "Out", click the drop-down menu and select DFH2.
You'll also want to set that track to have a Drum-map instead of a keyboard map.
