Heavy song in F, with sub-octave F tuned bass and DFH

i finally finished this thingy, and got it all to sound right!

it´s just an experiment, not as much a whole song... might use the riff later

this song was played entirely on my ibanez bass guitar... it´s a five string...
i tuned the lowest string to sub-octave F, and the third string to F, like one note higher than standard bass guitar E, like meshuggah...

drums are Drumkit from Hell. lots of tracks with the ´´guitar´´ and bass parts in this one to get the note definition right and all... i think it came out quite nice! Multiband compressor FTW!

Yep. It's a bit monotonous. But for a scratch idea, to see how the general concept, tone, and production work, it's aces.

Just spice it up now.

yeah, that´s what i was curious about, so :P

i think that overall i made it work, but it´s friggin´ hard using the bass tuning to sub-octave F... it´s rumbly and floppy as hell :P

i think i´d rather realize this song in drop A, unless i get my hand on a 28´ or 30´´ scale guitar... which won´t happen anytime soon :P

but overall, it´s quite interesting to work with when it´s tuned to F... i could do lead work over it with my 7 string when that gets back from the shop with it´s new Evo 7

Yeah, this is pretty cool, I like the bass tone alot. Reminds me a little of Doug Pinnick's tone (King's X). Nice drum work too.

i remember watching some clip of king´s X, but i can´t remember what it sounded like :P

to get that tone on the bass though, i use the bridge humbucker only, and pick close to the bridge, and also, they are active humbuckers, which help on the clarity :P
