Vegas Video Platinum 7 is the nuts!
Damn, for an $89 program ($59 after rebate!) this program is unbelievable. 4 tracks of audio, 4 tracks of video, with a large number of effects (audio and video) and comes with DVD Architect Studio 4. Very cool.
It takes ASIO, and also supports Acid loops. Now I have to figure out how the best way to synch video from my Sony hard disk video camera to a .wav output from Tracktion on my laptop. Vegas has a scrub dial, so I can really fine tune the alignment. I've heard one way is to smack a book or something hard onto another hard surface to get that abrupt smack, so you can then line that up in the video app. This wouldn't be a problem if the camcorder supported time code or had XLR inputs, but I am dealing with consumer stuff, so it won't have that stuff. ![]() All in all, if you guys are looking for a video app that is stable, runs on slower machines (I have it on my desktop but also on my 5 year old 1.3 PIII laptop), and is affordable, this is the way to go. Another benefit is if you already are used to Acid, because it's a very short learning curve, because the menu structures, effects, mixer, are all very very similar. I know this is sorta off-topic, sorta not being that it's video, but it's also related to audio, since I plan to try and record my buddy's band and my brother-in-law's band utilizing the Sony and my laptop with Tracktion. |

Well it'd be great for live recorded shows, because you could edit up to 4 video feeds plus 4 independent audio tracks into one video.
So for folks here gigging and wanting to video their gigs with decent quality but with a relatively small budget, this is a good option. They could take a stereo mix off of the board into a DAT or laptop, then have 2-4 camcorders going, and then compile in Vegas. |

True. I'm getting worked up for nothing, I don't even have a CD to make music videos for.
