How to make a solo sound better on a recording

The band im in just recently recorded, and our solos didn't sound the best, what could we do to help it sound better? thank you

More mids will help... a short delay in time with the song mixed down very low, along with the same reverb you're using on drums will help it sit a bit better.

what are you using? you using the neck or bridge pickups?

try the neck for some, it can make some solos smoother and flow better

the other guitarist did that, and his low end didnt soudn right, his solo starts out in the low end, so when his solo starts it basically sounds like paper balled up, and he used the bridge pick up i beleave

Use the neck for the higher notes, for that glassy tubular sound, the lower notes on a 7 string guitar usually need the bridge for clarity if thats what your want. But as mentioned before, more mids and a pinch of reverb/delay.

+1 mids and a little delay.

I don't like reverb as much, because to my ear, it tends to make the solo stand out less, and just kind of sit back in the mix (which may be what you're looking for). It sounds to me like the solo is clearer with just the little delay. And really just a little... maybe 1-1.5 repeats or so, and not very loud. Just enough to add a little dimension; enough that you don't really notice the difference while listening, but you can tell when you take it away.

compressor, exciter, send the recorded signal through a tubepreamp with a highpass filter.
