![]() i may have missed it in a previous thread, but what is your recording rig like?
I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. |

Been at work all night hehe Wow thanks for jammin with me everyone!
@ b00b: Yah i know, im working on making my next couple songs longer.. This particular one was limited though cause if you read the lyrics the dude dies in the end... i couldnt write past that without it getting pretty cheesy lol @ Shawn: Thanks homie! Its actually EZDrummer with DFH Expansion.. I wish i knew a drummer that could jam that clean and fast.. Well, on second thought, he'd probably be a pompous ass that wants to control the song writing. But yes, face ripping is good..@ Leon: For this particular song i did like this: First i wrote up the riffs and stuff just from jammin in the studio.. Then once i got a couple of parts compiled and arranged the way i like in GP5, i begin the hell that is hand placing drum hits (mousing it?). I use Cuabse SX3 with EZDrummer as a VST with DFH EZX Expansion. So about 3 years later when i have a final drum track, i export it as a WAV. The i flip on the old PODxt and TS808. Open Sonar 6 P.E. and plug in my S7420FM. It took about 650 years to coax a decent tone out of the bean man hehe. I used a Samson C0U Studio Condenser for vox this time around.. After all is mixed and tracked i export a rough mix to Adobe Audition where i use the Waves Diamond Bundle as mastering software.. First i cut a little of the extreme high end, then i compress (not too much as i do like a little dynamics even for DM) then i maximize to 0db. Save the export, and export a 256kbps mp3 to listen on in the car and here on the computer... After i think its decent, i run over here and let my trusted SS.org colleagues take a listen. \m/ thanks everybody for listening ![]() @ MetalKing - This next song im working on is shred-o-licious. |

Why do you use Cubase for drum mapping instead of Sonar?
And why do you master in Adobe Audition? I have Sonar, and use the Waves bundle right there for stereo mastering. ?

I dont like Sonar's piano roll, well, thats not fair, i dont know how to use Sonar's piano roll heheh. I assigned all my midi drums to a map in Cubase already. Plus i like using EZD as a VST.
Bascially cause im old school. I learned my way around CoolEdit a long time ago, so im really used to the Adobe interface, so im kinda not too excited to learn how Sonar's wav editor works.. But i do use some EQs and Comps in Sonar, just didnt think they were worth mentioning as i dont overly use them ;D You ask a lot of questions beesh! ![]() ![]() |

![]() I'm trying to figure this shit out. I know my way around Sonar OK, but I know JACK SHiITE MUSLIM about drum programming. ![]() So, I bow to you. Now make me a sammich. ![]() |

Nice! I'm not a deathmetal fan, but I still enjoyed it. Nice work on the drums
