Choosing right PC

Good day.
What should i be looking into when choosing a laptop, which will be mostly used when studying Sound Engineering and working with that

Macbook Pro

Windows needs to be tweaked a lot more to handle low latency audio recording properly.

could always get a windows laptop with an interface, I get very very low latency with my presonus firestudio (there are cheaper alternatives with low latency aswell)

Can't really suggest much without knowing your price range....

A Lenovo with firewire built-in would be a great choice.

I'm going to go back to the Mac and ask why?

Software required that doesn't run on a Mac?

Or budget?

Or you just don't like them... because I can guarantee that working in the audio world you will spend a LOT of time on a Mac.

They are the best Laptop for the job in most audio applications.

If you really are completely set on not getting a Mac, then a few things you need to be looking at are:

1) Solid State OR 7200rpm hard drive. Those 5400rpm drives are a pain in the ass.

2) Connectivity to match your interfacing needs. If you have a Firewire interface, make sure it has firewire.

3) A decent sized screen. A 13.3" is going to kill you if you have to open any DAWs. It's just too small.

4) Solid construction, particularly if you ever want to use it to record on location (once again why I'd go with a MacBook)
