New tones, New mix, new band! CRITIQUE PLEASE!

Me and the old vocalist just started a post-hardcore kind of band

I had a pretty difficult time with the mastering since I don't really know what I'm doing, so I would LOVE tips on ways to improve.

What I used:

Gibson SG 86' into podfarm with redwirez impulses

Fender Jazz bass with EMG pickups into my sansamp bass driver di pedal then into an ampeg 8x10 impulse

God damn this is sick.
But yeah, I don't think your going to find many people on SSO in favor of variations of "Hardcore".
With that being said, it is nice to see someone else on here who is into post-hardcore.
I think you did a pretty good job on the track man.
It doesn't sound like your vocalist used a pop filter. I would recommend using one, it really helps with the "booming" pronunciations.
And I know you said you don't know how to master, but I'm curious what you used for the process.

Thank you! after listening to it all day I realized some things I need to change, so I'm fixing it all up a bit right now.

Yeah, He didn't use one. Originally his vocals were supposed to just be demo'd but I ended up liking the end result a lot. I may have him go back and re-do them, not entirely sure yet.


Multipressor, adaptive limiter, some super simple eq, and thats about it!

hmmm, I think it sounds a little too explosive, doesnt it? how hard did you compress it? great track nonetheless! =)

I really don't know how hard I compressed it haha, I only used a multipressor in logic once, any tips? and thank you!

Vocals sounds too compressed and the vocals seem like they're late in the beginning but other than that its pretty good man

Yeah, they are a bit late we're going to fix all that up in the near future. Thanks for the feedback!
