Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier bedroom level recording

So I have came across a lot of threads and opinions that rectifiers namely triples and duals are too loud for bedroom playing. I got one because I gig and play with a band frequently, so it was no biggie for me. But I started to miss that inspiring rectifier tone when I create stuff late at night at comfort of my home. Here`s a little advice on what I did. Brought my 2x12 cab and mesa recto in. Cab is used just so I don`t fry a tranny inside the head. I activated the loop so I can put the poweramp output to 0, all you`re gonna use is preamp section of recto. Than I connected a cable from the Send in the back of Mesa to my computer, turned on Revalver (any impusle loader will work) and snapped some impusles in there. This way you can play your amp straight into your headphones. I think it sounds super awesome. Now I can rock the .... out of my mesa even at 3AM
I don`t know if this might be reallly old news, but anyways for those searching web for rectifier (or any amp) home playability, or just for the tone of triple, this thread might come in handy.
Feel free to delete this thread if something like this has been talked about too much before.
Anyways here`s a really quickly made clip for you, 2 rhytm tracks panned full left and full right, 1 fill-in track with a little reverb. recto was boosted with tube screamer, guitar Ibanez K7 with Dimarzio PAFs....no post effects....just the exact sound you get into headphones even when you play real-time.
I`m not that good player, but here goes:

Yea this is a neat little trick.

Although, to be honest, if you're regularly playing after about 7-8pm at night you should probably in some sort of silent system anyway. Save some tube life

Holy. Mother. Of. God.

I've owned a Recto for years and have never heard of this. On top of that, I typically do most ALL of my playing after 9-10 pm. For the longest time I thought my only option was to run through a THD Hot Plate or put off playing. My F-30 has a headphone out jack that I've been using to get by late at night, but it almost completely negates the tone of the amp and sounds like garbage. Good sir, you have just opened up the world to me.

Ideally I'd like to just find/construct a soundproof environment to move all of my gear into, but for now, I think I'd better look into this Revalver.

It doesn't have to be revalver man, any impulse loader will do Kefir is free.

Thanks dudes. Yeah, it was kinda a flash idea in my mind too. Somehow I just realised that all those amp sims out there are basicly just replicas of preamps. And impulses are supposed to add not just the sound of specific cab, but also poweramp response of amp with which was driving the cab, so I thought, damn, this just has to work. Right now I`m thinking about getting cheap 1x12 cab, maybe so it doesn`t take too much space in my room. Also this has to work with any amp that has effects loop (send and return jacks). Gonna try my Bugera 6260 in near future

Yeah I know the tubes are gonna wear sooner, since I use the amp about three times more often right now, but on the other hand they don`t take that mcuh pounding since at home the poweramp volume is literally on zero, if that even counts We`ll see how much they last.

As Pedrojoca said, it doesn`t have to be Revalver, it can be any software that loads impusles, if you use Windows, than there should be plenty of options, many of them free....and you probably wouldn`t use Revlver`s inbuilt impulses anyway, there are thousnad times better out there for free or for few bucks. I have macbook so I`m kinda stuck with demo version of revalver for now (hence the noises in recording ) Haven`t looked in anything else yet, because I`m used to Revalver, but I use impulses mostly downloaded from users on guitarampmodeling forum.

Also here is the very first clip I did with triple this way. It`s Nevermore`s We desintegrate first few riffs. Just 2 guitars panned left and right. I was going for that Dead Heart In a Dead World tone with this....didn`t nail it but it doesn`t sound that bad.

I did this trick before, but wouldn't it be easier to just use Lecto? I love that VST, that VST satisfy all my recto gas. Trick is, you gotta find the right cab sim!

I always did that with the recording / direct output of my amp. Yes you do have to have the cab connected, otherwise you'll damage your amp. Turn on the amp and leave it on standby
