16 bit is getting to be a bit long in the tooth for audio recording, and neither Music123 nor Alesis states what drivers are being used. It does say "no drivers required" which leads me to believe low latency drivers are not available. THis is not good.

I agree with Polaris in that if you buy a new A/D system, it needs to meet 24-bit /44.1Khz at least. Preferebly 24-bit/96kHz for pro level.

I also review the A/D converter specs and they aren't as good as M-Audio and other BETTER choices. In fact most USB integrated mixers I've seen just aren't putting the quality A/Ds in there....

You'd be better off buying a mixer as a mixer, and a A/D Card seperately. The sound will be superior to having an all in one design... Then again I don't know if your looking for something portable for a laptop or what...

well i just want something that sounds good for my home studio and i can multitrack real drums. i was thinking about this but the other one was cheaper but if its not good then i guess i will get the firepod. but i want 8 inputs (8 xlr inputs) so i can multitrack drums.

yes....get at least a 24bit/44.1khz board.... you will not be happy with 16bit.

With a single USB, I'd think that thing would have MAJOR latency issues running 16 tracks in and out.
