Acid Pro 5.0 question....
I'm running a PODxt through an Alesis MultiMix8 into Acid, my question is, why do I get good volume on my monitors when I'm recording, but when I render it it loses half the damn volume? I use L, R, and one center on EACH track, and I'm still losing volume on my render!!!!
I had to let it clip at +5 (in the red) for it to sound good! Am I doing something wrong? (I know it's not the best setup, but I just started home-recording....short on cash, lol)Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with how they came out in the end, but I'd like them to sound a LITTLE better! Check out the tracks on myspace and let me know what you think I could do to improve them. http://www.myspace.com/thesongremainsinsane |

It sounds good, even though it's over clip it doesn't sound ratty or distorted...it's just irritating that if I go by Acid's level on the Master volume, it's whisper quiet once it's rendered. That's why I just left it in the red...but I want to do it the right way, so that it sounds better. And on my mixer, it's in the green the whole time, it's fine up until I render it. Is it maybe something with my computer?

+1 to your computer settings. Take a look at your sound card's properties, specifically line in playback levels vs. wave file playback levels.

Thanks....checked out the computers audio...that was it. It's still a little on the quiet side, but definately an improvement.
I like your guitar, lol....very kickass. I'm thinking about getting one of those myself. Last edited by HotRodded7321; 12-06-2006 at 10:38 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

![]() * Drew used to use Acid 2.0 back in the day, before the one-track-at-a-time recording got to be too prohibitive. |

Acid 6 does multitrack recording, ASIO, Rewire, etc. Basically everything you probably liked about 2, with the addition of actually being functional as a DAW.

Interesting. Acid also kicks ass if you're into looping, which I kind of am.
How is it in terms of like FX bussing? |
