Thumbs up Carvin DC727 | Axe-Fx ultra | SD 2.0 test

Here is a little video/tone clip of a tone patch I worked on. I am using the sweet SD 2.0 preset C2Aye gave away lately.

You can download the preset for SD at Superior Drummer preset for you guys to download! (Avatar, the one I used on Cassini)

Opinions?

I am using REAPER.
No VST's of any kind except SD were used in the clip. Simple direct guitars from the axe-fx.

@Ibanezlover, yeah haha got to.

More opinions/critics?

@Zonk, yeah those are the stock pickups man.

@Raayl, haha! I know what you're talking about! I do laugh out loud when I really get shocked by the greatness of certain parts in songs. Thank you so much! This is really appreciated.

Thanks to both of you,
Any other thoughts people?

only thing I dislike is the drums. it sounds too close to the sound of the stock avatar kit I find, other than that it's good !

Thanks man!
Yeah well, like I mentioned, I used C2Aye's preset so no tweaking at all on the kit done by myself. I did not work on the mix att all. :P
But yeah, I guess it iss personnal preference because I do like the sound of the stock kit. :P

I remembered that you posted on my ss.org profile asking about the guitar tone in this clip and I totally blanked on replying so here's my reply!

Low gain is good, definitely works for clarity and expression. The focus on midrange is good as well if you're going for a 'djent' tone but try to make it more on the high midrange. I noticed that the tone has a bit too much going on in the low midrange area. Also, a tone like a djent one doesn't neccesarily sound huge on its own but in a mix it can sound awesome so keep experimenting with the tone in mixes with bass guitar if possible!

Hey thank you really much for taking the time to reply man. :P

Yeah I know what you mean about the low-midrange... Actually, tone sounds way less bassier by itself. The problem is, I duplicated one of the guitar tracks, EQ'ed it so it sounds bassy and panned it in the center in the clip... Does not sound great after reflexion. x) haha I first wanted to add a bit of bass but I guess I should have tracked real bass. -.-'

Also, thanks for thr advice on the djent type tone but I am not necessarely going for that exact sound. :P I assume it sounds a bit like it but my main goal was not to achieve a precise djenty tone.

Just so you can compare, here is the tone by itself without any drums or bass.
