My "album"

Ok, here's the whole story. I have a band, Scarangella. We're just starting out (the band is me on guitar, my bassist Evan, and my drummer Chris) and we want some feedback from other people that we don't really know. I figured I'd put the songs in their newest recorded forms on soundclick and show them to you guys. Many of you guys are incredible artists and I would really appreciate your feedback.

The thing about these recordings is, we don't have a singer, so it's all instrumental. And we don't have a way to record drums (yet) so all of the drums are beat I made in Fruity Loops (most I made before I had a drummer). So, obviously these aren't the actual drumbeats, but most are very close to what they'll actually be.

As for a recording setup, it's my PODXT Live into my computer via USB into Adobe Audition 1.5 and as I said Fruity Loops 5 and 6 for drums.

Some of these recordings were made with my RG7620 with an Invader in the bridge, some are my RG7 with a D-Sonic 7, and some are with my RG7 with an X2N7. Some are even my Avalanche 7 with an Invader (I just sold this guitar).

Here's the soundclick site:
www.soundclick.com/scarangella

Here's the breakdown of the songs:
1. Ethereal, it's the instrumental intro of the CD (done a long time ago with my old AX7521 with a PAF7)

2. Ten Seconds Until Sunset, this is the title track (I just redid this one not even a half an hour ago, RG7620 w/ X2N7 (no bass yet))

3. Broken Youth, not sure how long ago I did this one, but I know it was done with the Avalanche w/Invader in the bridge (has bass)

4. Never Forget, the obligatory song to my girlfriend (they nag, so you must adhere) I'm pretty sure this was done with the avalanche for distortion and the RG7(when it still had the blaze in the bridge) for clean. (Has Bass)

5. Dark Horizon, my newest song (done with the RG7620 w/X2N7) (No Bass yet)

6. Apocryphal, the second newest song, I wrote this just before I got my X2N7 so this song just missed out on it's glory (Avalanche w/ Invader, has bass)

7. Passed Judgement, My oldest song, newish recording (Invader'd Avalanche, no bass yet)

8.Chaotic Planet, new recording the solo needs major redoing, i was tired when I did it and keep forgetting first song I rerecorded with X2N7 (Has Bass)

9. Father, song I wrote about my dad who passed away a few years ago (done with Avalanche, no bass yet)

10. Welcome To The End, this and 12 are the two oldest recordings I have, still haven't gotten around to redoing them, RG7620 with Invader (Has Bass)

11. Redemption, new recording, RG7620 with X2N7 (No Bass yet)

12. Walking, the other really old recording, RG7620 with Invader (Has Bass)

13. Ashes, this isn't actually on the CD, I just like it, it's in F# Avalanche with Invader (has bass)

That's all of them, I have a bunch more songs, I'm just trying to decide what will be the 13th song, I don't want to put Ashes in there until I am able to actually perform it live (I have one guitar now (in B) so tuning down to F# isn't very efficient with a 56 B).

Pretty much, do you guys like the music? Do you have any critiques (pos. or neg.)? And, what's your favorite?

Thanks guys.

I like the songs! I'll be looking forward to hearing them with real drums and vox.
I guess my biggest critique would be to try to get a more organic sounding guitar tone. Play around with some different cab models and such. Then again, I don't have the greatest speakers here.

To be honest, I wish I could mic my amp, but I have a Crate, it wouldn't sound any better. Once I get a better amp I'll be better off.

I'm liking the sogwriting/playing. My only negative comment would be that some of the guitars sound way too digital. As for favorite track, probably Ten Seconds Until Sunset.

Yeah, like I said, I wish I could mic my amp rather than go direct. I am however looking into a Madison Divinity. That looks like it would kick a fierce amount of ass.
