Graphic Equalizer Plug-in?
I've been trying to learn equalization to improve the sound of my mixes. It seems that my ears may need some visual assistance. I use SONAR to record. It's EQ is very functional, but it doesn't give a visual readout of the resultant equalized signal. Is there a DXi or VST plug-in that I could get that will show me the the frequency peaks in real-time or averaged so that I can "see" the effects of my EQ too?

There are a few that come with any WAVES pack. I have the WAVES native gold bundle and for direct X the plugins are really good, especially the graph EQ.

URS makes some nice emulations of the API graphic EQs. Also McDSPs parametrics have a graphical display of the frequency curves.

I'm a big fan of my Sonalksis SV517 - like a more musical sounding Waves.

What you need is a spectrum analyzer. This tells you in color bars what the levels of each frequency are. I'm assuming you are using the sonitus per track EQ? If so, the analyzer will show you what bands are effected by different EQ settings.
