Some clips of my new Blackstar HT Club 40
Just finished throwing together a very rough selection of clips to show what I've got my new HT 40 sounding like thusfar... I figured I'd do individual clean, lead and rhythm clips to try and give some kind of idea of the range of this amp.
I should point out that these were all single takes, as I was really playing rather loud, and although my basement is relatively soundproof I'm still wary of the fact that my next-door neighbour has 4 kids under the age of 5! As a result there's some fairly spectacularly sloppy playing, and I really didn't have a chance to think about mic placement - this is what it sounds like with an SM57 just roughly plonked in front of it, haha. Enough disclaimers, though: Blackstar HT Club 40 Clips by fredbaty on SoundCloud (Can't seem to embed them, I'm afraid, so the link will have to suffice!) The clean demo is with the voice button pushed in, and the clean volume turned up high enough to get a little bit of crunch (master volume turned down to avoid tears of blood). The lead demo is with the OD voice button out, gain at about 10 o'clock. The rhythm demo is with the OD voice button pushed in, gain at about 11 o'clock. Hope you guys dig! |

Cheers dudes! Strange - the rhythm tone is the one I'm least happy with, but that could certainly be down to the fact that the playing in that demo is particularly horrible, haha.
