New heavy tune!

Here's a small tune I've been working on for a while now. After getting comments about my drum programming being really bad, I tried to something about that. They're still not good, but maybe a bit less repetive (except the fills).

Please tell me what you think!

Now I lay me down to sleep
Blah, blah, blah my soul to keep
If I die before I wake
I'll go to hell for heaven's sake

Well, giving it a quick listen, since I'm at work. I'd like to hear a little more depth in the rhythm, so maybe track one or 2 more guitars. And your lead tone needs to stand out more. There were a few times, especially early on, when your lead guitar almost disappeared in the mix. I like the song, but the recording just needs a little tweak.

The riffs were pretty heavy, tight without being Meshugga tight, and the lead flowed pretty well

I am the mask you wear.

Parka Dez is a jewel in the rough
Its really cool! Like the groove in the middle of the song, and all the lead lines.

The only thing i would say is that you need to put hi hats on the parts where its just snare and bass drum, not for all the parts but quite a few, as the hi hat will help you groove on the riffs and just help things move along. Look at drum tab for a song you like and see how it is constructed.

Also cut the reverb down on the rhythm guitars, make them a bit tighter. It also clips and crackles quite a bit, watch your meters, don't let it hit red.

Go to the Andy Sneap forum and some other recording forums to help out with the technical side of things. Im learning myself so take my advice with a pinch of salt.

Thanks for the comments. I'd need some new recording gear too, though, cause a Soundblaster Audigy 2 isn't optimal for recording.

That could be the cause of the crackling and pops.
