I would recommend a Steinberger CI1 and an obtained piece of DAW software... it's only $100, and although it comes with Sequel it kinda sucks. I use mine with Nuendo and love it.
ADA MP-1 ART SLA-1 Digitech TSR-24S Seismic 2x12 w/ Celestion G12T-100s "VINTAGE" AXE FX STANDARD FOR SALE then I got a star named after her (I know that shit is a hoax, but she's gonna cream herself over that shit). -kerska |

Heard the Focusrite stuff is decent...maybe like the Saffire Pro 24. I have an Apogee Duet, which is simple and sounds great, but maybe more then you want to spend.

apogee one - it has 90% of the quality of the apogee duet but its like half the price.
apparently the duet has sound quality that is better than the presonus firestudio project. |
