Finally miked up my ENGL POWERBALL for a short clip!!

Hey guys, so after using my podxt for like the last 2 years, i have finally acquired an engl powerball and miked it up to see the results.
I personally love the sound cuz it sounds the way i try to get the podxt to sound but just cant quite pull off.
But then again i cant record silently with it (so podxts are still cool in my book haha), though this clip was recorded with an sm57 hastily placed in front of my mesa 2x12 and at low volume cuz i live in an apt. I left my tubescreamer and ns2 at my guitarists house after our last show so i used the tubescreamer stomp model and the gate on the podxt to simulate those in front of the amp.
For the drums i used the demo of Sonor of Metal that comes with drumkit from hell superior which is basically a section of the song "vanished" by meshuggah cuz im lazy like that hahah!
And the bass and the solo were podxt cuz i did those afterwards.
The guitar was my swamp ash carvin 747 with a Lundgren M-7 in the bridge.

Anyways enough talking here is the clip:

enjoy!

thanks, yeah i was going for a dei djent djent sound haha!
m7s have officially replaced the emg 707 as my fave 7 string pickup, cuz they are responsive, clean, and precise, and voiced ever so perfectly so they sound great for lead work as well as rhythm! They are hot pickups, but if you have a good clean channel you can get a good clean out of them too (sounds like it was made for the engl clean, very defined and clear low notes), otherwise roll the volume back a tad and it will be perfect!!

Bulbtastic!!!

That sounds awsome man.

How would you describe the M7. I know Mesh used to use the blaze..is it similar to that or a totally different ballpark?..because as far as i know the blaze is kinda "scooped" so is their any simlarities between the two?

Cheers man

ahh thanks bro,
as far as blaze vs m-7 they are two completely different worlds.
when i think blaze i think hot, but muddy, and untight basically the opposite of the way i would describe the m7(i used to have one in my schecter and i replaced it with an emg 707), the m7 sounds ULTRA clean even though it is a very hot and in your face pickup, i have no idea how it works out like that but its so damn articulate, so if you love shredding on the lead pup or just love djent djent crunch, then you will love the pickup!

Great tone and good playing.

How are the leads on PB compared to the PODXT. I've never really heard anything about ENGL leads. (besides listening to Broderick)
