You need:
1) A microphone
2) A short mic stand for the microphone
3) An XLR cable
4) A sound card with line in or a USB-audio interface
5) Recording software.

And of course a mic pre-amp!

So:

1. A mic
2. mic stand
3. a mic pre-amp
4. an xlr-cable
5. a soundcard with a decent latency time and a line/mic-input
6. recording software

The best way to do it is to mic the amp.

The way I do it:

Guitar -> Amp -> Line Out -> 1/4" Mono to 1/8" stereo adapter -> PC Soundcard's Line In.

The way I do it:

Guitar > Digitech RP200 > Computer Line In

Works for me.

Cool , sorry for the funny way i worded that.
Alright because has of before i would take my guitar and have the mono jack and put a converter on it so that it would go into my soundcard it worked but its hell on my computer sound system.
