Guitar Hero with Pro Tools?

Hey Guys,

Has anybody managed to get their Guitar Hero drumkit to work with Pro Tools?

I've struggled with this for the last hour to get it happening but I'm lost.

Any suggestions?

I don't want it for real drum tracking, more for sampling additional hits etc.

How would that even work? Isn't that the equivalent of plugging some random videogame controller into ProTools (somehow) ?

That was my initial reaction, but it can be done, there's a few Youtube clips of people who have done it, they don't really explain how to do it though.

A mate of mine in the gaming industry reckons part of the game makers intentions were that it can also be used in garage band etc.

Hmmm that's interesting. I guess you'd hook it up like a MIDI controller? I just didn't think there was any audio attached.

Well I'll stop flooding your thread with useless posts. This is just really weird / interesting to me :O

if it's the ION kit, it's usable as a midi controller, but you would have to set up the kit to work with certain triggers and/or responses.
