I dunno, Charles Gibson was being kinda douchey in that interview to be honest. To be fair, Joe Biden should probably be interviewed in the same manner and see how he fares.

Yeah, he was kind of being a jerk. He didn't show a lot of patience to hear her out. It's pretty clearly obvious that he is professionally trying to tolerate her, and that he doesn't care for her.

I love it when politicians can't answer yes or no and squirm around like that, I definitely think see seemed out of her element there but it was good to see an American journalist probing her when she doesn't appear to know what she's talking about.

I never said he wouldn't fare well either haha. I honestly don't like either of them much, I'm just sorta saying. All the major networks (sans Fox and CNN, which are both horseshit as well) just seem to be bashing the right-wing people, and I'd like to see a fair amount of left-wing candidates being asked some of the same questions, in similar manners to create a fair ground. I hate how most modern journalism works.

, i hate scared interviewers who just let their guests off as soon as they try to avoid questions. also that british dude was awesome. i love how he, after trying like 10 times, apologizes for being rude and then proceeds to ask again

She sounded and looked awful but the anti-anti-american to the end thing will probably boost support. It'd be good to see some Biden on foreign affairs....EDIT- Just been watching him on youtube, the dude not only has balls but he's got emotion in his words.

About the likes of Paxman, it's not like there's just him. There are at least a few in British news broadcasting that don't mind grilling a politician.

She's shrewd and very well couched ... but she is not all that quick to learn. In general she's not all that smart.

She's a genuinely horrible public official and would be disaster as a VP. Not redeeming qualities whatsoever.

I could not disagree more. Journalists in this decade have been giving Republicans far too much of a pass, especially in the area of foreign policy. This is what I want to see out of my journalists: tough, no nonsense, pressing our leaders on the issues that matter. As far as I am concerned, if she wants to be Vice President, then this is the type of scrutiny she needs to be facing. If she cannot handle it, then she can just go home. Foreign leaders won't be pussy footing around with her.

Where have you been the last six years? The media have been letting the neocons get away with murder, while dragging every Democrat through the mud. It is nice to finally see it start evening out.

Gibson had the chance to immortalize himself as one of the greatest journalists in US history, the one who brought down a VP candidate - instead he pussyfooted around and played it safe when she started to crack. He could have easily stuck the proverbial crowbar in the cracks and started to pry, but unfortunately he chose to a) play it safe and b) most likely keep his job...

In that case, then it hasn't really evened out, just shifted violently in the opposite direction. I never implied I liked things how they were before, I'm equally disgusted at how things are run now as well. The fact is, both parties should be criticized and subjected to the same sort of journalistic questioning when it comes to these sorts of issues, not have one side hammered while the other side is given as much sparkling praise as possible, that's not good journalism, and it makes me sick to see this trend occurring. Keep in mind, I hate both parties equally, I probably won't end up voting for either major candidate, perhaps not at all with the way things have been going. This is my opinion, and I don't expect anyone to agree with me because it seems I'm sort of in a minority on this board.
