Saudis rebuff Bush's request to pump more oil - CNN.com

Boy, I am just so surprised. I thought they were our allies and all.

the whole situation with oil is f'ing ridiculous. in my opinion everyone at the top running the show are shady as hell. i dont think we will every get straight answers on the subject. sad.

It wouldn't be bad if America had a better public transport system. But, most of the people I know drive at least 30 minutes to work everyday, to places where buses don't go.

I know I'm going to be hated for this, but I'm gonna say it anyway.

So what? Do you blame him? Is it his fault that we use so much oil? Is it his fault that even though we have the techonolgy,intelligence and ability we don't bother with using other sources of energy even a millionth of what we could?

And to add to that, what makes people (Bush) feel that we're the only ones on the planet that need oil, and lower gas prices? In Europe gas is extortionate, and they pay by the liter, not the gallon, like we do.
But, they have the sense to drive smaller cars, that dont guzzle gas like demons, what do we drive when we get rich? A friggin Escalade or the like, that drinks gas like it's starving! Why is this even still happening?

Oil is going to run out one day, and at this rate, America will be up shit creek, because instead of changing things, ie, bigger gas guzzling cars have more tax, etc, like other places, no we dont do that, we just expect to use up what we can and then demand more when we need it, without considering that we could have started to solve this oil problem from decades ago.

Now, one litre of gas costs 2,3 dollars, and a one gallon of gas is 3,78 litres, so think about how much we have to pay?

And yes, we do drive smaller, eco-friendly cars with small engines.(4 cylinder, less than 2litres)

When I was in Germany in '04 I seem to remember it being 3 or 4 EUR a LITER, I could be a bit off, but SERIOUSLY!

Americans, we still have it pretty good, if it wasn't for public transportation in Europe I'm sure some of those countries would grind to a halt from the expense. But, we need to follow suit and strengthen our public transportation for when it hits like 4 or 5 dollars per gallon and we have to decide between gas and food on a regular basis.
