![]() ![]() ![]() | Running mates for Obama? IMO a ticket with Edwards would be perfect. He would lose the extreme hard-core Hillary feminists, but it wouldn't compromise his message, and from watching the debates when Edwards was still in (those were the last debates I watched). Edwards suits Obama personality-wise, has a good millitary record, and I think 'appeals to those core constituencies Obama hasn't quite captured' (besides the old chicks). And by my previous statement I mean hes a typical WASP male candidate. Discuss. |

He really needs someone to appeal to the core Democratic base, like a Joe Biden or a Chris Dodd, in much the same way that McCain will need someone to appeal to the conservative base of the GOP. Besides, Edwards is just the type of person who can clean up the mess over at Justice. He'd help Obama with the Hispanic vote as well as adding some much-needed foriegn policy cred to the ticket. "...and everything under the sun is in tune, but the sun is eclipsed by the moon." |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I hate to say it, but a black and a Hispanic on the same ticket is going to drive some people away. The really need someone to balance Obama out, and Richardson just isn't the guy to do it, no matter how much I admire him. I've been starting to think that rather than the "indignity" of serving under Obama, Clinton may be turning her eye back towards the Senate. She has a case for arguing that her wide spread popularity, her strong stance against failed GOP policies, and the weak actions of Harry Reid, would make her the perfect person to head up the Senate. |

![]() | Yes, all points so far are interesting. Clinton could never be Obama's choice for several reasons. Among them are 1) he could not trust her to play the VP role, 2) it would be seen as as sign of weakness and compromise of his message, and perhaps most importantly 3) she would bring all the Clinton baggage to the election providing a lot of easy fodder for the republican attack machine. I have always felt Obama is way more electable than Clinton because she has such strong negatives. ...there is no emoiticon to express what I'm feeling... |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think Edwards is the natural choice. He polled well when running with Kerry, he managed to always poll fairly well when he was running this year, his message appeals to progressives and people dissatisfied with the status quo (who isn't, this year?), he's likable, young, and I agree - he matches up well with Obama. http://www.wolf.org |

A nice break from the GOP death-grip they had on us here for so long. Of course, there's tons of hoopla for the Dems here, state-wide, since our Democratic Attorney General, Mark Dann, just had his Democratic endorsement from 2006 RETROACTIVELY yanked (! ) since he's now involved in a little sex-type imbroglio.Ah, politics. |
