I had a conversation with a friend of mine who is very religious and very conservative. We get in the usual ploitical discussion about big gov, small gov, socialism, blaa blaa. Then he procedes to tell me that he's honestly scared of Obamma. I was like are serious? Why? I expected to hear the traditional "Democrats, socialist, blah blah" speach. He proceeded to lay this book of revalations shit on me, trying to draw parallels between Obamma and the emergence of the antichrist. He was dead serious about all of this...... Keep in mind this is a eduacated and pretty sucessful guy. I told him you really need to record yourself saying this, play it back and see how crazy you sound.

I dont know whats scarier, Obamma the atichrist or a nation of people who really think the Devil is out to get them, and will manifest his self in the form of Barack Obamma...

But seriously... You should record him, and play it back to him 4 years from now. That'll provide some lols for sure. What were his arguments/proof? What makes Obama the Antichrist?

That's one theory. There is no proof to it.

I'm not a Christian, but I went to a private Christian elementary, junior high, and high school and, having read the book of Revelation and looking at the theory that you brought up, the prophecy angle makes a lot more sense.

People use religion to support whatever they want to believe. I've seen people use Christianity to support love and pacifism and other people use the same exact religion to support war and violence. You look at the major ideas held by Christianity/Catholicism over the last 2000 years and you'll see it change drastically again and again, and preachers and priests using the exact same scriptures to back up 5, 6, 7, 8 drastically different viewpoints.

One thing I love about Nathaniel Hawthorne's short stories is his absolute hatred of puritanism and a good deal of Christianity. He does oftentimes illustrate this mob mentality and grabbing at straws to twist anything to fit what you want.

Well, just to add my little , I had to mention that I have heard people saying little things here and there about this, not even religious people, and I thought it was a little odd, but one of the reasons I think is that for some reason Obama seems to be almost too liked to some...Anyway, thought I'd google and see what came up, found some links I breezed through if anyone wants to read :

Honestly, I'd call this a bunch of racists who are trying to hide behind the mask of religion, since there are plenty of Christians who don't think he is the antichrist. Hell, the antichrist is still in office.
