![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | So Obama is still on top... And unless clinton can win 100% of the remaining delegates, Obama will get the nomination. I think the chances are high of Clinton backing out now, more than ever. Heh, the headline at Breaking News and Opinion on The Huffington Post today was "Obama Vs. McCain" ![]() McCain's votes got overshadowed again by the Democrats, as Ron Paul, Huckabee, and Romney are still getting voted on, so McCain was pulling 75% in some places. ![]() I wonder if Nader has been pulling any votes ![]() It's not like the US could suddenly bust out the George Jetson Epic Fucking Death Ray - Chris "Hey! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | So if I read correctly Obama's lead is 171 delegates now and there are only 174 still up for grabs in the last 4 states holding primaries. That means Clinton would have to win 99.5% of the remaining votes to take the lead. Not very likely. Does she know something the rest of us don't about the superdelegates' powers? |

I've been having this growing feeling that she is going to royally fuck everything up, split the party in half, and hand that nimrod McCain the White House. If she wins and destroys the party's chances in November, then the backlash will be so great that the DNC will have to get rid of these ridiculous superdelegates. Unfortunately, this means we have to deal with four more years of a stubborn GOP president who refuses to pull out of Iraq, and 40+ GOP Senators who will filibuster any legislation that is meant to end it. If she looses, then the DNC will point at the success of the superdelegate system, and we'll be stuck with it. There will be no discussion about how Obama and the DNC could have saved plenty of time and money focusing on the real candidate months ago, since Clinton would have been forced to drop out when it was proven to be mathematically impossible for her to win the pledged delegate count. This is why I hate the two party system. On one side, we have a bunch of stubborn morons who want to force their moral stance down our throats, while fighting the entire world and bankrupting anyone who is not a millionaire. On the other side, we have the fucking keystone cops, bumbling around, trying to pick up a clue, in danger of losing to a frail old non-incumbent of the same party as the most unpopular and ineffective president in the history of our nation. I don't get it, was the Nazi party not fielding a candidate this year?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Just my opinion, but from following the coverage of this in the last day, I don't think anybody's (superdelegates or not) taking her seriously enough anymore to totally cleave the party. At best, the party loses Democratic voters in states like Florida, that are "Reagan Democrats" and would probably vote for McCain anyway. But that's just totally in my opinion.... ![]() I'm expecting the trickle of superdelegates to fall into Obama's camp more and more after his win, or shall I say, Hillary's loss yeseterday. He already picked up another 8 superdelegates this week (as of yesterday) and she made none. |

You and me both. About the people who would rather vote Republican than Obama, those polls are always a little fucked anyway... Just totally an estimate out of my ass, but from what I've seen in other contentious primaries, it'll be only a fraction of that number by the time it makes it to the general election. People who are real registered Democrats (not those who registered just to vote in the primary) will mostly crossover once the other 'Hillarys' and her big name Democratic supporters move behind the nominee. Again, that's almost totally conjecture but that's what it looks like to me.
