Not voting Democrat or Republican (I for one refuse to recognize the term "Republicrat" as any more than libertarian/third partyist progaghanda) doesn't accomplish a thing, ElRay, much as you might like it to. All it does is give tacit support to whoever is running agianst the candidate you (as someone with third party leanings) find least objectional, and strengthens the status quo. It's unintuitive, but unless you can convince 50% of voters in your district to vote with you (a pipe dream), then all you're doing is furthering your own disenfranchisement.

On the other hand, I do agree that a truly independant, unbiased media would make a world of difference, in that it would educate the voting public to the issues being campained on and either make a third party candidate more viable, or (more likely) force the Democrats or Republicans to start integrating new traditionally 3rd party policy into their platforms to stay viable.

All this talk of 3rd party candidates "fixing" american politics is just snake oil. If you want to see change, then the people voting for candidates have to WANT change. It doesn't matter who the candidate may be, just that they're aware that X, Y, and Z need to happen or they're going to get voted out of office by irate constituents.
