Hypothetical "Because I'm Curious" Battle Royale: McCain vs. Clinton

I'm curious just to gauge people's reactions with the current issues. If it came down to having to choose between John McCain and Hillary Clinton, who would you vote for? This is, of course assuming that you would vote, so please, if you respond, no "fuck that" BS... please?

And yes, the sole purpose of this thread is to sate my curiosity.

Tough to say at this stage of the game, which, lets be honest, says a lot right there considering if it was McCain/Obama I'd go Obama in a heartbeat.

Probably, simply so we'd have Democrats in the executive branch and so we could guarantee liberal appointments to the surpreme court to offset the conservatives Bush pushed in, but that's the biggest selling point for me. Clinton's pretty much in the pocket of big business as much as most republicans, whereas McCain is less than many democrats, and Hillary's approach to the subprime debt crisis (freezing interest rates for subprime borrowers at their current, historically low rates) is stupid as it'll assrape the rest of the debt market. In short, she comes with baggage, but she also gives us one more check to undo some of the damage BushCo has done.

I voted Clinton without hesitation. If the question was McCain / Obama, it'd be a lot harder.

Id go for a 3rd party candidate. To me Hillary and McCain are the same.

They're not the same. Neither are ideal, but you have to think beyond themselves and focus somewhat on who'd they would bring along with them, who'd they'd appoint, etc. Surely there would be a big difference there.

At least choose the lesser of two evils. Third party candidates in our current system is a waste of a vote. I heard the same kinds of things in 2000 when Nader cost Gore the election. How have these 8 years of Bush worked out thus far? I hope those Nader fans feel their 'stand' was worth it.
