wait wait wait, i got 21 seconds in before i shouted "WHAT?!?!" in a rather dumbfounded voice... putting a Mexican flag (or any flag i assume) above an American one is illegal? why? i mean my god thats just stupid, why even bother to make that a law? why are Americans so hung up on flags?

It is proper flag etiquette that the American flag be flown above other flags in this country. For example you're not supposed to fly a state flag over the American flag. But it's hardly law and I fail to see how going batshit over it is hardly justified.

One of the many reasons that I'm proud to be American is that in America, most people don't fly off the handle like this over something that is, at the end of the day, really not that important. While I salute the guy's patriotism, this really isn't the best way to be patriotic.

Sure, it's customary to fly the American flag over any others, but that's going a little over the top, no?

Take into context were this is at. Im sure the whole illegal mexican thing is alot more prevelant in the southwest.

Justified, IMO. I mean, I don't support a flag burning amendment or anything like that, but come on man, if you're going to bother having flags in the first place, something you have to go out of your way to do, and you're going to fly both the Mexican and US flag, you damn well better not have the Mexican flag above the US flag unless you're in Mexico. It's just common sense and courtesy.

I mean, when I walk by a protest where they're waving Mexican flags, I just wonder, OK, then why aren't you in Mexico? Same thing here.

I'm not sure you should be flying flags anywhere but Government buildings anyways.

The guy was a little crazy, the right thing to do would have been to ask the bar owner to take it down.

Brining out a knife like that (huge army knife) in public is stupid.
