McCain clinches GOP nomination, CNN projects - CNN.com

All eyes on Texas, Ohio after Obama takes Vermont - CNN.com

No real surprises here.

Currently, she is leading strongly in Ohio, while he is just edging her out in Texas. I expect that when the dust settles tomorrow, nothing in the Democratic race is going to be different.

It's never going to end.

If McCain gets in the White House because the Democrats do something stupid and blow this election that is there's for the taking I swear they should just disband and let some other liberal party take their place.

Well, keep in mind that the DNC doesn't want to see this keep going, either. If Obama takes PA, look for her to drop out on her own, or for Howard Dean to pressure her to drop out.

Now that's McCain's official, I just hope the DNC makes some sort of an end to all of this. I'm with Eric in thinking that this squabbling is a great way to give the Republicans another term... And that's terrifying.

He never really had a chance of winning, but just the thought of a man like him in office ran shivers down my spine. He would've been even worse than Bush.

I may just be paraphrasing, but I believe she said something like that.

Come on Obama, end this squabble already. He is the only one of the two that has the caliber to defeat McCain. If Clinton wins, a good percentage of the Dems will run straight to him. Got my fingers crossed.

The only term I can think of to describe Clinton at this point is hubris. Huckabee, I think, despite what he claims, had no delusions about winning the nomination. It was his intention to force McCain to take more conservative stances (which I believe he succeeded at). Clinton, on the other hand, is driving the Democratic party to ruin in her idiotic desire to get in the White House at any cost.
