Romney endorses McCain

Sources: Romney to endorse McCain for GOP nomination - CNN.com

No surprise here. Romney understands that his endorsement will encourage many of his delegates to go over to the McCain side. More improtantly, though, he sees how much time and money the Democrats are wasting battling each other. The quicker that McCain can secure the nomination, the quicker he can get a united GOP behind him and get on with his presidential campaign.

All Huckabee is doing is forcing McCain to waste time and money in a protracted campaign to secure delegate votes in other primaries. It is a monumentally stupid decision, especially considering the divided state of the GOP and the (currently) superior fundraising muscle of the Democratic candidates.

I'm not fan of Mitt, but this is an excellent political move on his part, and doubles as a stab back at Huckabee. There is no love lost there.
