As Congress and the public focus on more than $600 billion already approved in supplemental budgets to pay for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and for counterterrorism operations, the Bush administration has with little notice approached a landmark in military spending.

The Pentagon on Monday will unveil its proposed 2009 budget of $515.4 billion. If it is approved in full, annual military spending, when adjusted for inflation, will have reached its highest level since World War II.

That new Defense Department budget proposal, which is to pay for the standard operations of the Pentagon and the military but does not include supplemental spending on the war efforts or on nuclear weapons, is an increase in real terms of about 5 percent over this year.

Overall since coming to office, the administration has increased baseline military spending by 30 percent, a figure sure to be noted in coming budget battles as the American economy seems headed downward and government social spending is strained, especially by health-care costs.

You see I hate both freedom and America.

I hate freedom because it encourages moral degenerates such as homosexuals to let us know they exist. We all know homosexuality is evil. It says so right in Leviticus 18:22. I believe it reads, “Butt sex is bad”. So we can’t possibly encourage this behavior because gays are so damned entertaining. Who wouldn’t want to be as entreating like Liberace or Rock Hudson or Tom Cruise? Of course you do realize Katie Holmes is a beard right? Anyway gays are entertaining therefore they are popular and therefore all the kids are going to want to be just like them. We can’t have that!

I hate America because it has freedom therefore is has gays and therefore it is bad.

You see there is nothing wrong with nuclear weapons and depleted uranium and white phosphorus. There’s nothing in the Bible that explicitly prohibits those weapons. All it says in the Bible is some nonsense about swords and spears. Nobody uses those to make war so they don’t count.

Remember Jesus loves you unless you’re gay, vote for Hillary Clinton or aren’t Christian.

No surprise there...we are fighting two wars and we are still occupying Korea, still occupying Germany, and if I'm not mistaken, we still have some troops in other countries as well.
