Denis also has gotten seriously behind the firefighter community since his work on Rescue Me. I remember listening to Denis and another of his costars guest-commentate an inning at a Red Sox game a year or two back for ESPM I think while the local firefighter groups were doing a fundraiser in Fenway. On one hand, it was some of the funniest shit I've ever heard on network TV, but on another he was out there, helping to raise awareness and putting his name behind their cause. I think it's cool of him.

Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit! This is why we have a FEMA, and why we pay taxes! This is exactly the sort of thing that gets me really ticked off, because I liken it to paying someone to do a job, and then they don't do it.

I wish everyone would look at politics this way. What would you do if you payed a contractor to come remodel your bathroom, and he said, "Well, we took your money and spent it on a new fence for our office building."? I didn't ask for you to build yourself a fucking fence with my money, I asked you to remodel my damn bathroom!

This is exactly what happens when we, the people of this country, pay taxes, and our government goes and throws them at a war that two thirds of the population wants the fuck out of.

I pay taxes because you make me, and then take the money, don't use it on this country and decide to go start a war half a world away? Explain the logic to me on that one. I want a fucking refund.

What would happen if just half of the eligible voting populous called up their Congressman and Senators tomorrow and demanded for the impeachment of Bush? He would get impeached, that's what. These assholes get away with so much because most people don't care. The phone calls from the vocal 5% only go so far. Make it a vocal 50%, and all the sudden attitudes will change.

How do you think we got a Constitutional Amendment preventing Congress from voting itself a pay raise? So many people got pissed and called demanding something be done. "Oh shit, I ain't gonna get reelected?"
