And that's my point. Saying that they buried it is circumstantial. The best you could hope for is proof of incompetence (GOD KNOWS that's not a stretch). What I want is for someone to uncover the smoking gun. The clandestine high-noise recording of one of the senior aides, or better yet Bush, making statements along the lines of "Yeah, well, we're just going to ignore that and tell them this.......mkay?"

We need someone to uncover proof that there was intent to mislead. Agreed, we all suspect there was, but we need the smoking gun. This article isn't even a spent cartridge.

Bush & aides lies about a thousand times on one topic, and still no one does jack shit about it. so incredibly fking incompetent that it is impressive your political situation needs a revolution or something, there is far too much muscles and far too little brains in your nation atm.

and what Big Mike said, yea thats true in theory but i bet that DC will counter with killer crabs or something, and in a flash all is forgotten. how the hell can such a fruitcake still have any power at all? people have been posting stuff like this in the media for years now, yet on he goes like the fking energizer bunny.

The article's a little more fuel on the fire, but I wouldn't say that proof of incompetence is all you can hope for.

I mean, these articles and reports all have summaries of their conclusions before they get down to the nitty gritty, correct? So, for this to be straight up incompetence, you would have to make the argument that someone put the paper on Bush's desk, he randomly opened it without reading the introduction, jotted down the first three pertinent facts he saw, and then based his case on that.

Which is more reasonable, that, or concluding that he and his administration actually read the reports in toto, and then carefully selected pieces of information that supported the conclusions they wanted to draw, knowing full well that these conclusions were in disagreement with the ones drawn by the actual report, by professional intelligence experts?

You'd have to build up one hell of a defense against that to wiggle out. I'm not saying the report does anything new here, but it gives us a great statistic to wave around for a problem we already knew about.

Even if that was the case, then he is still worthy of impeachment. Incompetence and negligence are two traits that we should NOT put up with from the President of the United States. This is the man responsible for making policy decisions that effect our entire country. He has a responsibility to do more than grab three facts from a cherry picked report and spend the next six years living in a bubble, pretending their is no other opinions. He has the responsibility to listen to the things that he doesn't want to hear, and make tough decisions, based upon what is good for the country as a whole, rather than what he personally wants.

In short, the president shouldn't be allowed to act like a spoiled, rotten, dimwitted child. Even if he is merely incompetent, this is more than enough to remove him from office. This is also why I feel that Congress should have the power to vote no confidence in the President, forcing him from office. This would be much less of an issue if we had more choices than leave him in or try him for a crime. We need the ability to simply fire the president.

The problem seems to me to be rooted in the fact that since the American voters gave this administration a second term there is a general acceptance in policy decisions being made like this;

Incompetence is now shrugged off under the premise that it's just the way it's done.

Oh and just for record. I agree with you Noodles. 1000%!

Heh. More proof that we should have kept it this way:
