Fauquier County used to be like that when I was in school in Woodbridge. It seemed that they'd get rain and school would be cancelled whereas we'd have a foot of snow and still have class.

My said it was on The View today, and my cousin from Chicago called and asked her about it saying it was on her local news.

Edit: For those of you who are interested and live in this area, Channel 9 news is airing an actual video interview tonight. Hopefully it won't be as half-assed as the NBC report
