I'm not certain it would be as cost-effective as (*gasp*, he's going to use the n-word! Run!) nuclear power, or as easy to get done quickly. That would solve the problem of power output.
Spirits were pretty high after 9/11... doesn't say much, sadly. Jeff |

If the people who inhabited this world were not total morons, then we could just use nuclear power. It's worked ln subs for the past 50 years. Just wear an aluminum cup while you drive just in case...
It bothers me, if we can use almost limitless nuclear power with the only problem of waste, why dont we just launch that shit into the sun. Sounds rediculous, but whatever we launch into there is going to be torn apart into hydrogen and helium anyway, since heavier elements will decay on it's surface. If we figure out launch costs vs waste amount, it could possibly be done. edit: lol I just realized that the total amount of waste would steadily increase the sun's size, forcing it to expand prematurely. but isn't that how we take care of all of our problems? force someone who isnt alive yet to deal with it? The problem is that nobody would be responsible enough to use it without spilling tons of waste into our planet 'just because', and nobody is progressive enough to let go of 'nuclear disarmament' and just take advantage of the technology. |
